Breanna Tomas

Chaos Coordinator

Hi, I’m Breanna Tomas, Executive Director of Flow at The Law Shop. You may remember me as the Chaos Coordinator, answering phones and helping clients start their journey with The Law Shop. Now, you will find me a bit more behind the scenes, but still in the action!

I wear many hats throughout the firm, running the firm’s accounting, paralegal support, and management of The Law Shop Library accounts. My goal is simple: make everyone’s life easier. Whether I’m helping streamline processes, keeping projects organized, coordinating office operations, or supporting our team members, I enjoy being the person who helps keep things moving forward.

In 2025, I married my husband, Kessler, and together we enjoy life in rural Adair County, Iowa. Growing up with small-town values has taught me the importance of hard work, relationships, and showing up for others—qualities I bring to my work every day.

One of my favorite parts of my role is creating positive energy within our team. I love planning events, celebrating successes, building connections, and helping foster a workplace where people enjoy coming to work. At the end of the day, if I can help our team stay organized, supported, and successful, then I’ve done my job.

When I am not in the office, you will likely find me with my family or spending time outdoors. You may also see me coaching volleyball or at any sporting event I can attend. I also enjoy traveling and have now visited nearly all 50 states!

No bio would be complete without mentioning Rita, my Labrador Retriever and longtime office sidekick. Rita proudly served as The Law Shop’s unofficial mascot, professional greeter, and morale booster. While she is no longer with us, her legacy lives on in countless memories, photos, and stories. She brought joy to everyone she met and remains a beloved part of The Law Shop’s story.

“I have known Amy J. Skogerson for many years. Over my many years of being in practice, I have found that lawyers who are successful are those who have earned the respect of their colleagues. Amy has achieved that lofty goal. She has earned the respect of her colleagues.”  - Patrick L. Wilson, Attorney, Des Moines, Iowa
"We have been really impressed with how fast and efficient Amy is with getting our adoption hearings scheduled and finalized.  It is clear that she makes her clients a priority and knows how important our Adoption Days have been to our family!”  ~Jake Skurdal
"I attended an Unbundled Services Training at The Law Shop in 2019 and wasn't sure what to expect when I walked through the door. We've all been excited for a training just to struggle to keep our eyes open throughout the event. But guys – this was a training like no other! Amy Skogerson and Andrea McGinn provided me with all the information, resources, and advice necessary to go out and crush an unbundled practice, all while remaining warm, inviting, and approachable. I have now completely unbundled my family law and estate planning practices and am LOVING the increased options for my clients. I could not be more grateful to Amy and Andrea for the time, energy, and expertise they have poured into this training. I could not possibly give a more glowing recommendation than this one for The Law Shop." – Dawn Hernandez, Attorney & Mediator, Des Moines, Iowa
“Whenever I find out Amy is on the other side of a case I know we will be operating in integrity and fairness.” - Kimberly J. Stamatelos, Attorney / Author of “The Compassionate Lawyer” / Co-Founder of The Compassionate Alliance
