Becky Muzney

Powerhouse Paralegal

Becky, our powerhouse paralegal, is there at the drop of a hat and is always ready and willing to help. She joined our team in 2019 and continues to show an eagerness to learn every practice area we throw her way. Her primary focus is family law and she absolutely loves having a hand in helping clients become forever families through adoption.

Becky was raised in Van Meter, Iowa. She left to explore the West Coast for a few years where she attained her Associates of Science Degree, but eventually home called her heart and she moved back to Van Meter with her fur baby, Willy. Becky and Willy eventually made room in their home and their hearts for one more when Becky met her husband, Dakota, in 2020. The two tied the knot in October 2022 and we couldn’t be happier for them.

Dakota is in the military so unfortunately you won’t see Becky’s beautiful face in the office as she works remotely a majority of the time. Have no worries though, she’s a pro at it!

When not working, Becky and Dakota are looking for new adventures whether it be a weekend road trip to somewhere new, a concert, a brewery, golfing or hiking.

Becky Anderson, The Law Shop
"I have referred Amy to literally every person I know who is adopting (I think I'm at 3 and running!) and there is a reason for that!  Amy truly makes us feel like she cares about helping our family grow, and the best part is that I know it isn't an act - it is clear that she loves what she does and helping children find their forever families!” ~Elizabeth Skurdal
“When we started the adoption process and didn’t know what to expect, Amy helped us through the whole process. She got us information in a timely manner and we were able to do all the preparations through email since we live over an hour away. We will use The Law Shop in the future when the need arises!” – Bill & Elaine
“Amy is a superb advocate for her clients with the experience and skill to achieve the best results.” - Andrew B. Howie, Attorney, West Des Moines, Iowa
When I got married I never imagined that I would be divorced, but I think that's true of most people. 17 years later, I was a nervous wreck walking into Amy's office. She greeted me with a warm hug. After my nerves were settled, and I had told my story, she took my hand and said that it was time for me to stop taking care of someone who needed to start taking care of himself. I felt safe, and I felt ready. My divorce journey was not as difficult as it could have been, but there were some uphill climbs that I had to take, and Amy was right there with me. Always with advice, always with a kind word, and always with a feeling of positivity. I cannot imagine having anyone else represent me or my family. To work with Amy, is to work with more than just a legal representative. I could provide some small similes in order to really hit home with how pivotal she has been (and to utilize that English Master's degree I'm still paying for) and say: Amy is like a light house during a storm, she is the smell of your favorite cookies baking at your grandma's house , and can be thought of as steaming cup of hot chocolate that awaits you after you've been sledding all day. All true. Simply put, Amy helped my four children and I navigate a very difficult time, and begin our new life as a happy family of five We now live without being afraid, and enjoy every single day that is ahead of us. Amy helped us to get there.” – Kelly
